Animations for the indie game 'Ava', by Social Cipher

I was hired to do some 2D animations for NPCs and some props in Ava, a platformer game for neurodivergent youth. https://www.socialciphergame.com/games

I needed to animate the main character entering a 'crafting mode', doing a looping idle animation, and then exiting the mode.

NPC idle states

This is a bounce platform for launching players to new heights!

On the right, Ava's old jump. The team needed a new jump animated that keeps her body more upright. On the left is my new version. Doing this would mean that I needed to build a brand new rig for this character as the original was not available.

[WIP] Sweeping NPC. I really enjoyed how the complicated motion of the broom + arms came together in this animation. Setting up the rig accordingly was key.

An old, rickety robot lurks inside the library for players to meet.
